California Youth Empowerment Commission
California Youth Empowerment Commission
The California Youth Empowerment Commission gives young people a direct role in state government and policymaking. Youth commissioners advise the Governor, Legislature, and Superintendent of Public Instruction, develop policy recommendations and resolutions, participate in public hearings, and elevate youth perspectives on issues including foster care, juvenile justice, housing, education, mental and physical health, and civic engagement.
