Family Urgent Response System
California Department of Social Services
The Family Urgent Response System provides free, confidential, trauma-informed support to current and former foster youth and their caregivers throughout California. Youth can call, text, or chat 24/7 about anything from feeling overwhelmed or having conflict at home to needing help with housing, transportation, counseling, food, or other resources. A trained staff member can provide immediate support, help create a plan, and connect youth to community resources. If additional support is wanted, a local mobile response team can meet the youth in person anywhere in California. You do not have to be in crisis to reach out.
