Independent Living Program (ILP)

Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) – Youth Development Services

The Los Angeles County Independent Living Program helps eligible current and former foster and probation youth prepare for adulthood and self-sufficiency. ILP can provide need-based assistance and referrals related to education, employment, housing, transportation, life skills, healthcare, and other transition needs. Youth work with an ILP/Transition Coordinator to identify goals, complete a Transitional Independent Living Plan (TILP), and request available services. Assistance is based on individual need and available funding.
